When you develop an idea for a business, you put together this idea that there is no way anything could ever go wrong! (Notice I said idea) Well last night that idea was followed up with one minor flaw that could have been disastrous! Could have being the operative word here!
I was given the task of putting together a photo booth session in under a day! Doesn’t really sound like that big of a deal right! Well Dennis was Paramedicing it last night and there was a home game so Ashtin was doing the drill team thing and momma was watching the LD football game, so I was running the show solo! Normally I have months to go through inventory and put together lists to double check it, then have Chrissy (my wife) check it another couple of time to make sure we sd cards and batteries! Well as fate would have it 35w South on a Friday at 4:00pm was a parking lot! From MarKey HQ in Denton to Ft. Funky town would normally take an hour, IT WAS FRIDAY THE 13th YALL!! 3 hours!!!!! Needless to say Jesus and talked a lot that ride! Supposed to be there at 6:30pm well I had the idea I had left with plenty of time! Well I got there on time. Sounds good right! HA! The event was on the second story. So now I get to lug all of the booth equipment and the booth itself up a flight of stairs! Panic starts to set in the out of the corner of my eye I see what was later determined to be the very first elevator in Ft Worth history! This elevator was amazing I would love to do a photo shoot in it! But anyway, I get everything set up as the guests star rolling in. Cutting it a little close, but hey first disaster avoided. Then reality sets oh crap no WIFI😳, that meant not network to link the computer to the printer😱 awww disaster #2 reared it’s nasty head now I am feeling 🤢. So I turned to good ol Facebook out of pure desperation I put calls out everyone, even called FWPD buddy of mine Jacob B. He tried his hardest to help but duty called, he had to fight some crime (Big Thanks to Jake for trying). Then Monica H. A fellow EMT and past client reached out and offers to go to to Walmart and buy me one!🤗 day saver there. (Thank you so much Monica for even offering to do that) Love that loyalty to friends! Then my little brother chimes in and offers up his printer cable! I know that it doesn’t sound like a lot but it saved the night! He rushed over in his 30 or 40 foot tow truck and offers up his cable🙌🏻. So now I can go back and print out what I have already captured. Then as a good brother does he stays with me the rest of the night to help me break down and loads the expedition up with me. Man took a ton of weight off me shoulders! I actually made about 15 dollars in tips which was kinda cool. When I gave Jacob my tips he refused at first then I made it clear it wast much but it was all the cash I had, so when we were done he slipped the money into the console of my truck. Jacob I could not have made the night a total success with out you. I love you little brother and thank you 👏🏻 So much for all your help last night!
So finally got some pictures of the booth in action!
“Never abandon a friend— either yours or your father’s. When disaster strikes, you won’t have to ask your brother for assistance. It’s better to go to a neighbor than to a brother who lives far away.”
Proverbs 27:10 NLT
Congrats to Morgan and Devyn, and thanks for allowing us to be a part of you special day!!
